BUDGET BILLING

Temperatures aren't the only numbers that fluctuate with the seasons. So can your electric bill.

By signing up for Jackson Energy's budget billing program, you will know in advance how much your bill will be every month. Here's how budget billing works -

  • A co-op representative will take your billing information for the year, and divide that number by 11. Appropriate taxes are added, and the amount is rounded to an amount that should cover your energy costs for the next year, and the co-op member signs a contract to pay that amount each month.
  • Each month, your bill will show how much energy you have used and your budget billing payment. June is the reconciliation month each year, and your total usage will be compared to how much you have paid.
  • You may receive a credit from Jackson Energy if your usage was lower than expected, or you may have to pay slightly more if you used more than the estimate.
  • Take the highs and lows out of your monthly electric bill and sign up for budget billing by calling 1 800-262-7480.
