News9/12/2008 Co-op members urged to take action
The September issue of Kentucky Living has an urgent message for co-op members. The magazine features an ENERGY ALERT about upcoming federal energy legislation and asks co-op members across the state to contact their Congressional representatives. The ENERGY ALERT includes three questions for elected representatives to address - 1. What is your plan to make sure we have the electricity we need in the future? 2. What are you doing to fully fund the research required to make environmentally friendly electric plants an affordable reality? 3. Balancing electricity needs and environmental goals will be difficult. How much will it increase my electric bill and what will you do to make it affordable? The special edition includes information on proposed leglislation and ways to contact your local legislators. The ENERGY ALERT also includes pre-printed post cards that can be mailed to Congressional offices. Members are urged to take the time to read about the legislation and to spend a few minutes filling out the cards. Members can also contact their representatives via email at the following web site - www.kaec.org. Additional copies of the information will also be available at local Jackson Energy offices.
